Why the Moon, Mercury and Venus move every day
So that you can read this without knowing your time of birth, the table places your Sun sign as the 1st house (whole-sign houses, the same convention newspaper horoscopes use). The Moon crosses about 13° of sky a day and Mercury and Venus each travel at their own speed, so the "Nth house" shown in today’s table changes from day to day. The house number is set by how many signs away from your Sun sign a planet stands, and planetary positions are computed from a real ephemeris — the same date and the same sign always give the same result.
⚠ This differs from true houses, which are built on the Ascendant and need the time and place of birth. Everyone's Ascendant is different, so true houses come out differently for each person — for that exact calculation, enter your birth date and time at Astrology (see my sky).
How do I know my star sign?
It is set by your birth date — which constellation the Sun was passing through that day. If you were born on a cusp day (around 19 April or 20 May, for example), the exact hour shifts from year to year, so it has to be read from the ephemeris for your birth year. This page uses that ephemeris.
Does the daily horoscope change every day?
It does. The Moon moves about 13 degrees a day, and Mercury and Venus each cross the sky at their own pace. So the same sign gets a different table today and tomorrow. The reverse also holds: the same date and the same sign always give the same result, because there was only one sky that day.
Can I read it without knowing my birth time?
Yes. This page puts the sign the Sun was in as the first house, so no birth time is needed. It is not the same as houses built on the Ascendant, which need the time and place of birth. If you know your birth time, the natal chart goes further.

The Moon shows feeling, the texture of a given day, unfamiliar ground (it moves on in a day). Mercury shows conversation, agreements, short journeys (a matter of days). Venus shows relationships, money and anything that turns on taste (it stays for weeks). When all three fall in the same house, that theme is read as standing out unusually on the day.
How to read the twelve cards
The card list above shows all twelve signs at once. There is no need to read only your own Sun sign card — if your Ascendant falls in a different sign (and the exact Ascendant can only be known from your time of birth), that sign’s card may fit you better in practice. That is why they are all laid out. When the date changes the table is recalculated from scratch; past dates are not kept.
