One branch cannot settle your love life. What follows is what the tradition actually reads, and what we can and cannot count ourselves.
The eight characters form four pillars — year, month, day and hour. Classical practice reads the day branch (日支), the earthly branch of the day you were born, as the spouse palace (配偶者宮). You read which ten god that branch is to the day stem, and whether it forms a union or a clash with the other characters.
Of the ten gods, 正財 (Direct Wealth) stands for a man's wife and 正官 (Direct Officer) for a woman's husband. Within the same wealth and officer groups, 偏財 (Indirect Wealth) and 偏官 (Indirect Officer) are read with a different grain.
| Group | Ten gods in it | What it reads as in the spouse palace |
|---|---|---|
(Rob Wealth) | treating a partner as an equal companion |
(Hurting Officer) | the grain of expressing and giving out |
(Direct Wealth) stands for a man's wife |
(Direct Officer) stands for a woman's husband |
(Indirect Resource) | caring for and leaning on a partner |
We took 281 K-pop idols — everyone in our set with a date of birth on Wikidata — computed the day-branch ten god for each, and grouped the results. Same data and same arithmetic as the bazi and career page: the day-branch ten god is one single piece, used the same way whether you are reading career or the spouse palace.
| Group | People | Share |
|---|---|---|
(Wealth) | 68 | 24.2% |
(Resource) | 66 | 23.5% |
(Officer) | 62 | 22.1% |
(Output) | 51 | 18.1% |
(Companion) | 34 | 12.1% |
⛔ We put no reason behind that gap. This is a statistic, not you.
Having counted, we checked one more thing. 99 of these charts landed on the opposite-polarity ten gods (劫財 (Rob Wealth), 傷官 (Hurting Officer), 正財 (Direct Wealth), 正官 (Direct Officer), 正印 (Direct Resource)) — and all 99 of them had a day branch of zi, wu, si or hai. Not one exception.
The sexagenary cycle pairs yang stems only with yang branches, and yin only with yin. Only four branches — zi, wu, si and hai — carry a functional polarity (用) that differs from their positional one (體), and only charts with one of those four cross over to the other side.
In other words, which group your day-branch ten god falls into has nothing to do with you. It is already fixed by where your birth date sits in the cycle of sixty. That is why "正財 (Direct Wealth) in the day branch means a good marriage" is not a reading this data supports.
Spouse-palace theory reads 正財 (Direct Wealth) for a man and 正官 (Direct Officer) for a woman, so the ten god you look at depends on sex. But our set of 281 carries no data on sex. Writing "of the 68 in the wealth group, this many have good marriage prospects" without knowing sex would be inventing arithmetic. So we show the five-group distribution and stop there; no figures split by sex.
That is a result too — what we do not have, we write down as not having.
The tradition reads the day branch as the spouse palace: which ten god it is to the day stem, and whether it unions or clashes with the other characters. 正財 (Direct Wealth) is held to stand for a man's wife and 正官 (Direct Officer) for a woman's husband.
Our set of 281 carries no data on sex. Without it we do not invent figures; we show the five-group distribution only.
No such claim can be made. Spouse-palace theory weighs unions and clashes and the relation to the favourable element, not one branch alone. And the day-branch ten god is already fixed by where your birth date falls in the cycle of sixty. This page measures one piece and draws no conclusion.
