Converting to your time zone

The times are UTC. In Seoul and Tokyo add nine hours; in London, no change in November; in New York subtract five hours (after clocks go back on November 1). Near a change, the date can shift: the Moon enters Scorpio at 22:17 UTC on November 7, which is already 07:17 on November 8 in Seoul, and still 17:17 on November 7 in New York.

What the numbers do and don't tell you

Which sign the Moon is in is astronomy. Astrology reads the Moon's sign as the day's emotional tone. That is an interpretation, and this calendar cannot prove or disprove it. It can tell you, to within a few minutes, when the Moon changes sign.

How we calculated: the Moon's apparent ecliptic longitude from the public-domain (Meeus) lunar formulas in our chart engine, searched every five minutes and refined to the minute at each 30-degree boundary. Our Moon positions are accurate to about a tenth of a degree, which is about twelve minutes of the Moon's motion; treat each time as accurate to within a quarter of an hour.
