Girls' Generation's Taeyeon (Kim Tae-yeon) has a public birth date — March 9, 1989, born in Jeonju, South Korea — but no public birth time. That matters more for Western astrology than most fan sites let on: a full birth chart needs the exact hour, because the houses and the Ascendant shift every few minutes. We ran the placements that don't need an exact hour through KLifeMap's own natal-chart engine, and found that six of the seven traditional planets are fixed by the date alone — and one very nearly wasn't.

Why we didn't just guess a time

Most "celebrity zodiac" pages quietly assume noon, or skip the question entirely and publish a full chart anyway. We don't do that. Without a real birth time, the houses (which section of life a planet's energy shows up in) and the Ascendant (the sign rising on the eastern horizon at birth) cannot be calculated honestly — they change roughly every two hours. So this piece only reports what a missing birth hour does not change: which zodiac sign each of the seven traditional planets falls in.

What we actually did

We ran Taeyeon's birth date (1989-03-09, Jeonju: 35.824°N, 127.148°E) through KLifeMap's engine twelve times, once every two hours across the full day, and checked which planetary sign placements stayed the same and which ones moved.

All six held their sign at every single hour we tested. That's not a coincidence particular to this chart — most days, most planets sit comfortably in the middle of a sign, far from the boundary where a birth-hour uncertainty could flip them.

Jupiter is the exception — and it's close

Jupiter is the one placement that actually moved: it crossed from the very last degree of Taurus into the first degree of Gemini sometime around 19:30–20:00 KST that day. Run the chart for a birth before roughly 7:30 PM and Jupiter sits at 29.9° Taurus — one of the last few minutes of arc before it leaves the sign entirely. Run it for a birth after that window and Jupiter has already moved into 0° Gemini. This is exactly the kind of case that shows why "just guess a time" is dishonest: for most people on most days this wouldn't matter, but on this particular day, a few hours in either direction changes which sign Jupiter is read from.

What we don't do

We don't publish an Ascendant, a house placement, or an aspect-to-the-angles for Taeyeon, because none of those can be computed honestly without a real birth time. We also don't turn "Sun in Pisces" into a personality verdict — the sign placements above are a map of where the traditional sky-divisions fall on this date, drawn from named classical sources (Ptolemy's Tetrabiblos, Vettius Valens), not a statement about who Taeyeon is.
